After an exceptional senior season, Zak Zinter is a consensus All-American.

Multiple Michigan players chose to return to Ann Arbor for one last season and for a chance to not only beat Ohio State and win the Big Ten for a third year in a row — but also to win a national championship with their Wolverine teammates. They have accomplished the first two goals and Michigan is still chasing that national championship and the 2023 team can still make that a reality.

A few of those individuals who came back for a final season are being recognized for their stellar play on the field in 2023. Senior offensive guard Zak Zinter is already a consensus All-American. He has been named as a first-team All-American from all three groups that have been announced.

In order to become a consensus All-American, a player must be a first-team All-American by at least three out of the five groups. Walter Camp, FWWA, and the AP have all recognized Zinter as a first-team All-American. Sporting News and AFCA will announce their All-American teams later in the week, and Zinter has a chance to become a unanimous All-American if he is voted on the first team by those two.

Two other Michigan players who came back for a final season are being recognized as well.

Running back Blake Corum is a second-team All-American by Walter Camp, FWAA, and third-team by the AP. Also, Kris Jenkins is a second-team All-American by FWAA and a third-team by the AP.

Last year, in 2022, Corum was a unanimous All-American. Both Olu Oluwatimi and Jake Moody were consensus All-Americans in 2022.
