Eddrick Houston discusses his thoughts on Georgia’s newly signed 5-star safety prospect.

Next to him, KJ Bolden’s close friend Eddrick Houston grinned as he flashed his Georgia hat and set it down on the table.

He said that the Ohio State commit had known for a few weeks, or for as long as Bolden had known. He described it as a “big decision” for someone he has been playing with or against since 6U football, but he wasn’t shocked by the decision.

“We had a brief inkling that he was heading there. Despite his desire to remain at home, he adores Georgia,” Houston remarked. “To him, it makes perfect sense. Though I think it’s a significant choice, I’m just glad for him.”

Houston is the best person to share what Bolden brings to a football program.

Bolden is regarded by the five-star defensive lineman as one of his closest pals. They were, without a doubt, the two most vocal and inspirational members of one of the best defenses in the state at Buford. Every time you see Houston grinning, Bolden is probably grinning not too far away.

Houston believes that Bolden will have just as much of an impact off the field as on it in Athens.

Let’s start by discussing off-the-field, excellent in-class activities. simply keeps an eye on everything to ensure our well-being. That is KJ’s problem. He has empathy for other people. He doesn’t give a damn about who he is. Houston remarked, “It’s about everyone around him.” “He constantly pushes guys to make sure they’re putting in the extra effort needed to be exceptional. That’s a significant component of his greatness.

Houston watched as Bryant Appling, the head coach at Buford, boasted about Bolden’s amazing academic achievements.

He gave a rundown of his interceptions, touchdowns, and receiving yards at school. Appling drew attention to Bolden’s 2023 four-touchdown performance, in which he scored via rush, reception, kick return, and pick-six. It’s probably no coincidence that Kirby Smart attended just one game this season to watch Buford play. During his press conference on Signing Day, Smart also addressed that.

Houston concurs with Smart and Appling.

“The numbers speak for themselves on the field. “I guess he’s a dawg now, literally,” Houston remarked. He goes crazy on both sides of the ball when he’s on the field. He is there for you whenever you need him—safety, receiver, etc. He is among the greatest football players I have ever seen.”

These two lifelong friends are currently headed for a collision in the College Football Playoffs.

“There have been some amazing times. Since we were young children, we have played against and with each other,” Houston remarked. “We had known we were going Division I since the ninth grade. Every day, we simply grind our way up to this point. Look at us now. We are traveling to Ohio State and Georgia. It’s really fantastic.”
