ESPN RE{PORT: ‘Social media ended his Las Vegas Raiders  chances to…

The rookie who publicly criticized former head coach Josh McDaniels on social media has been let go by the Las Vegas Raiders.

This week, the Raiders waived defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera, an Arizona State seventh-round selection.

Silvera has only made two appearances this season due to his struggles to get playing time.

He played against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4 and the New York Giants in Week 9, however he only had two tackles total in those two games.

Following the Raiders’ 30-6 victory over the Giants in their first game following the dismissal of the previous head coach, Silvera chastised McDaniels.

Silvera complained in a profanity-filled video why he was “kept on the bench so long.”

Silvera did not play again after his 16 snaps against the Giants that week.

It’s unclear if Silvera’s criticism of McDaniels had any bearing on his release.

However, a lot of NFL fans thought that his jabs had an impact on the choice.

One fan said, “Social media killed his chances with LV!”

“Just shows you have to be professional and keep the grievances in house.”

Another admirer said, “Damn they took that live video personal.”

A third said, “See why you don’t talk s**t on Instagram live.”

Silvera played collegiate ball at Arizona State and Miami before being selected by the Raiders in the draft.

Marquan McCall, a defensive tackle, was formally added to the Raiders practice squad in other transactions.
