CLEVELAND (AP) — Michael Woods, a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, was suspended by the NFL on Friday for the final six games of the current campaign due to his violation of the personal conduct policy.

Woods, an Oklahoma native and sixth-round pick in 2021, has missed the entire season due to an Achilles tendon rupture. He suffered an injury during the offseason while working out in Texas with quarterback Deshaun Watson, and he had surgery in April.

The league withheld further information regarding Woods’ suspension.

Last season, the 23-year-old saw action in 10 games for the Browns and finished with five receptions for 45 yards. He was useful on special teams as well.

Prior to his injury, the Browns had hoped that Woods would play a more significant role in 2023.
