New York, NY — In an unprecedented streak, New York City has reported ten fires over the past four days, prompting concern among emergency services and residents alike. The fires, which have erupted in various boroughs including Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, have affected not less than 700 residents, many of whom have been displaced or injured.

Officials are currently investigating the causes of the fires, with early reports suggesting a mix of electrical malfunctions, gas leaks, and potential arson in at least two cases. The FDNY has been working around the clock, with over 600 firefighters deployed since Friday.

“This is one of the most intense stretches we’ve seen in recent years,” said an FDNY spokesperson. “We are doing everything we can to manage resources while ensuring the safety of our communities.”

Temporary shelters have been established across the city, and the Red Cross is coordinating relief efforts for those displaced. The Mayor’s Office has urged residents to report any signs of faulty wiring, suspicious activity, or gas odors to 311 immediately.

No fatalities have been confirmed as of Tuesday morning, though at least 36 people have been treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

Investigations are ongoing.
