In January 2024, the Carolina Panthers appointed Dave Canales as their new head coach, marking a significant shift in the team’s leadership. Canales, previously the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was brought in to revitalize a franchise that had struggled in recent seasons. Canales’ coaching journey began with the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent over a decade in various roles, including wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach, and passing game coordinator. His most notable achievement came in 2023 when, as the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator, he revitalized quarterback Baker Mayfield’s career, leading the team to a playoff berth and a division title.
