PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are having quarterback troubles. After losing Kenny Pickett, the team has turned to Mitch Trubisky, who struggled in his return to the starting lineup this season.
Now, at 2-4 as a starter, the Steelers are hoping they can find new success with their veteran quarterback. Meanwhile, on the outside, fans and media have joked about the return of future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger. And the quarterback himself even brought up the idea
his‘ episode, Roethlisberger joked about how the Steelers haven’t called about a return – and said, “I’m good” when asked if he’d actually come back.
“No, the Steelers have not called me,” Roethlisberger said. “The wing feels great. The legs? No good.”
“I can sit in the pocket, just don’t let me get out of the pocket,” he added.
The Steelers are watching the return of another quarterback legend help carry their AFC North rival into the playoffs. With Joe Flacco becoming the starter in Cleveland, maybe Pittsburgh eventually picks up the phone and gives Roethlisberger a call.
If he was tempted with an offer, maybe his legs would get a second wind. But for now, the Steelers are sticking with Trubisky during this final stretch of the regular season.
