Tee Martin’s son, Kaden Martin, announced on social media on Tuesday that he was going through the portal.
Martin played baseball for the Miami Hurricanes last season as a true freshman outfielder.
According to the Hurricanes’ official website, Martin, who attended Knoxville Catholic before moving to Buford High School in Georgia, only appeared in two games for Miami during the previous campaign.
The left-hander was 0 for 2 against Presbyterian and 0 for 1 against Virginia Tech.
Martin, a three-star quarterback in his own right out of high school, is probably hoping to get into more games. He has the talent to have an impact on the diamond; in early 2021, he was considered one of the top 75 MLB draft prospects.
And where will Martin land, exactly? Tennessee will undoubtedly come up, but I’d also keep a watch on programs in the Baltimore area. Tee Martin is the Baltimore Ravens’ current assistant coach, so it wouldn’t be shocking if Kaden relocates a little bit nearer to his family. Amari Rodgers, Martin’s brother, played collegiate football at Clemson, so that might also be an option.
