’The Hurricanes’ Top 10 Players to Watch in 2024.

Which Miami Hurricanes needs to step up during spring training in order for the 2024 squad to reach its full potential?

March 4 is the start of spring ball, and a lot of players need to get better at their positions, are returning from injuries, or are joining UM via the Transfer Portal. Here’s how Alex Donno and I have ranked the top ten players in Miami who need to get better this spring.

Donno’s Top 10
1. The quarterback Cam Ward He only has one season left to improve the Hurricanes and his draft prospects. In the offseason, Ward is already a constant in the gym and building relationships with his teammates.

2. Security Mishael Powell: At Washington, he began the season as a defensive back for the national runners-up. Powell will attempt to maintain stability in a safety room that is largely youthful and recently lost James Williams and Kam Kinchens to the NFL.

3. Zach Carpenter, a center by transfer from Indiana, will attempt to replicate Matt Lee’s role as the offensive line’s anchor for Miami this season.

4. The cornerback Damari Brown: In 2024, he should be able to secure a starting position after getting his start as a true freshman the previous year. At the Power Five level, the former American Heritage defensive back needs to develop into a lockdown corner.
