and J.J. McCarthy could not be available when the Giants choose at number six. They may be forced to choose another needy position or go elsewhere for a quarterback if they don’t trade up. The Giants could be able to select one of those four signal-callers with a trade-up, but it would probably cost more than just the No. 6 pick. Daniel Jones  is now the starting quarterback for the Giants, but if they decide to cut him in the offseason, they will only have to pay $22.1 million in dead cap hits.
