Ryan Anderson of LAFB Network is persuaded that the Los Angeles Rams’ radical overhaul of their running back corps may indicate that head coach Sean McVay is trying to give the position a higher priority in his offensive toolkit. Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson have been replaced by Kyren Williams, youngster Blake Corum, and new free agent Boston Scott. “But even before the roster revamp, there was a philosophical shift within the Rams coaching staff,” writes Anderson. “To put it simply, the shift involved using gap-blocking far more frequently in place of zone-blocking systems. All teams use both, but clubs must move in one direction due to the disparate demands on the offensive line.
