Georgia Tech and Florida State will open the season on August 24 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, precisely one hundred days from now. ACC title implications will be played in what is unofficially dubbed “Week 0,” which will thankfully bring college football’s offseason drought to an end.

It’s more than just a countdown to kickoff, though.

There is a flare in front of the 12 team College Football Playoff, which is the biggest alteration to the postseason in the sport since the Bowl Championship Series concluded in 2014. And it’s the start of a historic realignment of conferences, with the Big 12’s biggest brands going to the SEC and the L.A. schools joining the Big Ten.
