Liverpool signed four new midfielders this summer, but manager Jurgen Klopp is “obsessed” with bringing another talented young player to Anfield by 2024.

Prior to the current season, the Reds acquired Wataru Endo, Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch to their squad; nevertheless, they have been linked with other midfielders before the winter transfer market starts.

One target is apparently Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, an England star who is expected to depart the club. However, Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool is “obsessed” with signing Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez, despite interest from Benfica and AC Milan.

Despite his early age, the 21-year-old is already making an impression in Argentina, having played 43 games for Boca.

Alexis MacAllister, a huge fan of his countryman, has reportedly pushed the Reds to sign the defensive midfielder as quickly as possible, according to the Liverpool Echo via TeamTalk.

It is likely that the World Cup champion will help Liverpool win the competition for Fernandez, but it is uncertain whether the Merseyside club will make a formal bid for the Boca player.

Newcastle United now know how long Sandro Tonali will be banned from betting.

According to reports on Thursday, the 23-year-old will face a 10-month penalty following an Italian Football Federation probe into his betting behavior.

Despite his suspension, Sandro Tonali will continue participate in Newcastle’s training sessions and friendlies, providing Eddie Howe a significant advantage. However, with Harvey Barnes out of the picture until next year, the Newcastle manager now has to deal with the gloomy possibility of losing his star summer purchase for the entire year.

Tonali is expected to confront significant problems in the future. However, he has already gotten a great deal of support from both supporters and teammates. During what appeared to be his final game against Crystal Palace, he was showered with accolades. It’s worth noting that he replaced Borussia Dortmund during the Champions League match.

Unfortunately, Tonali appears to be making his final appearance at the Dortmund game. Regardless of the small potential that he will be able to play against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night.

The ban on Sandro Tonali is not yet in effect worldwide.

According to the Telegraph, FIFA has not yet widened the ban to include all countries, thus Tonali may be available to play for Newcastle this weekend.

The report does, however, mention that FIFA most likely extended his suspension to ensure he could not play against Wolves at Molineux.

Tonali being able to play on Saturday would be a huge stroke of luck. Even if there is a remote chance, it seems doubtful.
