In the summer, Tottenham acquired Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, an Italian club, and at that time, he was largely an unknown figure to many. There were considerable doubts surrounding this signing; however, it must be acknowledged that Vicario has defied all his skeptics by delivering an exceptional performance at the beginning of the season.

The 27-year-old has participated in every league match for Tottenham so far, securing four clean sheets. He has made numerous remarkable saves, making him one of the primary reasons for Spurs’ current position at the top of the Premier League table.

Unsurprisingly, Ange Postecoglou is highly pleased with Vicario and has shared that the Italian goalkeeper consistently trains at Hotspur Way, even on his days off.

In Postecoglou’s words, as reported by Football London: “When I assessed Vic, I saw not just an exceptional goalkeeper but also a person of character. After engaging with him personally, I believed that he would seamlessly fit in because his intention was not to prove a point; he came here with the sole purpose of becoming the best goalkeeper he can be.”
