Former Welsh international Robbie Savage has praised Ethan Ampadu, who recently joined Leeds United, as one of the standout signings of the season. Ampadu made the switch from Chelsea to Daniel Farke’s team after experiencing consecutive relegations during loan spells with Sheffield United, Venezia, and Spezia.

While other players like Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville have displayed occasional moments of brilliance, Ampadu’s consistent performances have earned him the man of the match title in numerous games. Currently, Leeds United holds the third position in the Championship table, and as they strive to catch up with the leaders, Leicester City, and surprise contenders Ipswich Town, Savage believes that his fellow countryman Ampadu could be the key to Leeds’ return to the Premier League.

Savage expressed his admiration for Ampadu, stating, “I’m a big admirer of his. He’s had his share of loan spells, but now that he’s secured a permanent move to Leeds, I believe it’s an incredible bargain for the club. The suggested £7 million fee is an absolute steal for Leeds United and arguably one of the top signings of the season.”

“Daniel Farke’s preferred style of play is ideal for maximising his potential. I understand that he fills a defensive midfield role, and with players like Glen Kamara and Archie Grey to support him, their midfield synergy propels them forward.

The Exeter-born midfielder, who can play anywhere in the defence, has participated in every minute of the league and cup play for the Whites this season. Most recently, he was the star of the thrilling 1-0 loss at Stoke City.

The 2018–19 Europa League winner, who had three failed loan stints away from Stamford Bridge, now has a permanent home that Savage thinks is advantageous to all parties.

Leeds United and Ampadu are a perfect match. Leeds United is an incredible football team with a large and devoted fan base. Currently ranked third in the Championship, Leeds United has a genuine chance to make a comeback.

However, Ethan Ampadu will benefit from playing football on a regular basis, as will Wales and Leeds United above all. He’s one of the season’s best deals at £7 million, you have to admit.
