Jaden Hullaby, a former football player for both Texas and New Mexico, passed away, the schools announced on Monday. His death’s circumstances and cause were not immediately made public. He was twenty-one.
After transferring from Texas, Hullaby played as a redshirt sophomore running back/tight end for the Lobos in the previous season. In 2020 and 2021, he was a member of the Longhorns.
Hullaby, a linebacker for the Longhorns, was described as “a great person and someone we always enjoyed being around, coaching and spending time with” by Texas Coach Steve Sarkisian in a statement. “We want to send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and teammates during such a difficult time. Our thoughts are with them.”
Hullaby’s relative posted on social media on Sunday, informing followers that the player had not been seen since Friday and was last believed to be in Dallas. On Monday, Landon, his younger brother and a defensive back at Texas Tech, posted a heartfelt tribute to his brother.
