Michigan Alters Famous Sign Inside Weight Room

It’s obvious that Michigan is preparing for the terrifying matchup with Alabama.

Michigan has increased its concentration against Ohio State over the past two years, and it has obviously paid off as evidenced by their three-straight victories over the Buckeyes. A picture of a massive screen in Michigan’s weight room with the caption, “What are you doing to beat Ohio State today?” started making the rounds a few years ago. The statement acted as a continual reminder that OSU is despised and, in any case, the most significant rival.

Since the Bulldogs eliminated Michigan from the playoffs two years prior, we also learned that Jim Harbaugh used a “Beat Georgia” drill during some parts of practice. They are also, of course, the current national champions in back-to-back years, and Harbaugh has always maintained that you have to defeat the best in order to be the best.

Georgia was not selected for the College Football Playoffs this year, but Alabama was, and Michigan will take on Alabama in the Rose Bowl on January 1. As a result, Harbaugh and his colleagues have altered the now-famous screen that typically serves as a reminder to everyone in the weight room that OSU is the team with the most importance on the schedule. Normalcy will eventually return, but for now, the Tide is the main concern.

It’s also important to note that the field in the distance is the Rose Bowl, not Michigan Stadium. The location is undoubtedly one of the many unique aspects of this matchup. Every player on the roster, Jim Harbaugh, his staff, and others are aware of this and are now reminded of it daily.
