To sign a player for £70 million in January, Liverpool would need to make a “crazy bid,” according to Fabrizio Romano.

It’s going to be difficult for Liverpool to sign reported target Victor Osimhen in January.

In recent times, Osimhen’s future at Napoli has been strongly linked to the Reds, as his future remains uncertain.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Napoli has no intention of actively putting their Nigerian star player, Osimhen, on the transfer market in the upcoming New Year. In his latest Daily Briefing, Romano suggests that unless an exceptionally high bid is made, Napoli is determined to retain their key player.

According to Romano, Osimhen holds significant importance for Napoli, and the club is prepared to wait until the summer to consider selling him, even if he hasn’t signed a new contract yet. He notes that Napoli has employed a similar approach in the past with players like Kalidou Koulibaly, demonstrating their commitment to retaining their top talents. Despite facing challenges in the current season, the club aims to achieve success in Serie A and European competitions, making it highly unlikely that they will easily part with Osimhen.

Romano speculates that only an extraordinary bid could alter the situation, and he anticipates that Napoli will make it extremely challenging for other clubs to acquire Osimhen. At this point, Napoli has not even disclosed a specific price, which further suggests that potential suitors will face a formidable task in their pursuit of the player.

Napoli refuses to back down on Osimhen
In January, Osimhen might become more freely available, but we don’t think Liverpool will make any kind of move to sign him.

Actually, there’s a greater chance that the Reds would be far more open to a summer trade in any case.
