Quinn Meinerz, an offensive lineman for the Broncos, was hospitalized in California on Sunday and is scheduled to return to Colorado on Monday.
After the Associated Press revealed that Meinerz’s heart rate was elevated at halftime of the Chargers game at SoFi Stadium, Meinerz left the game.
Sean Payton, the head coach of the Broncos, stated during a press conference on Monday that Meinerz “is healthy and going to be fine.”
After Meinerz left the game, Denver’s Luke Wattenberg took over at guard.
“We think we have a really good group of offensive linemen that are still developing. They are tough, intelligent, and possess the qualities we’re looking for. “I think Wattenberg performed well coming in at that particular moment, and he has done a good job,” said Payton. “So I’m pleased with our depth there.”
